Who we are

Oxona is a private Dermatology and Women’s Health clinic, based in Oxford, Didcot, Chipping Norton, Reading and St Albans. Our purpose is to provide tailored care and advice in a supportive setting, empowering patients to make the right choices for themselves. 

Our team is made up of specialist GPs. Each Oxona clinician is experienced in Dermatology or Women’s Health, holding additional post-graduate qualifications in their areas of expertise.

Our team is committed to treating patients with respect and understanding. We ensure that you have all the information you need to make the right decision about your healthcare needs.

With a wide range of specialisms and procedures, from coil fitting to HRT advice, and acne care to mole removal, we aim to offer the very best medical care in a safe and affordable manner.

Meet the team

Dr Vineet Joshi

Specialist GP Dermatology 

Dr Joshi was educated at Dundee University, graduating in 2006 before completing his GP training in Glasgow. He has since focused his efforts on developing expertise in dermatology, enhancing his skillset with Postgraduate Certificates in Skin Surgery and completing the Postgraduate Diploma in Dermatology.

Dr Angela Anderson

Specialist GP Dermatology 

A primary care dermatology specialist since 2010, Dr Anderson was educated at Cambridge University and worked in London’s teaching hospitals before becoming a GP. Specialising in dermatology, she has completed the Postgraduate Diploma of Dermatology, the Postgraduate Certificate in Skin Surgery and the Postgraduate Level 7 Certificate in Toxins and Dermal Fillers.

Dr Isabel Welch

Specialist GP Women’s health 

Dr Welch qualified as a doctor from the University of Southampton in 2007, having previously completed a pharmacology degree at the University of Leeds. Starting her medical career in intensive care and A&E, she worked in the Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals before moving to general practice, specialising in dermatology and women’s health.

Dr Jennifer Carter

Specialist GP Surgical Dermatology & Women’s health 

Dr Carter works in a North Oxfordshire GP practice, having completed her medical degree at Kings College London. Alongside her role here, Dr Carter is an Honorary Fellow of the Plastic Surgery Department at OUH trust, where she has developed a huge range of skills and techniques for minor surgery.  Dr Carter’s second interest is Women’s Health, having gained her Diploma of the Royal College of Obstetricians And Gynaecologists; and is a very experienced coil and implant fitter. 

Dr Saleema Sharief

Specialist GP Dermatology 

Dr Shareif is a practising GP in North Oxfordshire. She completed her medical training in the United Arab Emirates before starting her GP training in Oxford.  As part of her training, Dr Shareif spent six months on a placement in the renowned Dermatology Department of the Churchill Hospital, where she was exposed to a range of complex dermatology matters. She continued this specialist interest in Dermatology once qualified as a GP completing the post-graduate Diploma in Dermatology and a number of surgical courses.  

Dr Gero Baiarda

Specialist GP Dermatology 

Dr Baiarda is an incredibly experienced GP, having qualified from Newcastle University Medical School in 1995. He has been a GP for 24 years and Senior partner for 10, whilst also developing his dermatology and surgical skills in NHS Dermatology Clinics. He has worked in East Berkshire providing Dermatology services for over 12 years, during which time he gained the accolades of ‘Community Clinic of the Year – Berkshire 2017,’ and an ‘Outstanding Dermatologist’ award in 2019.  Dr Baiarda also has Master’s Degrees in Child Health and English Literature.

Dr Jacqui Mayer

Specialist GP Dermatology 

Dr Mayer was educated at Cambridge University and St Mary’s Hospital London.  Her GP training included a dermatology post in Sydney, Australia, where she gained a huge breadth of experiences in the dermatology field. Dr Mayer currently works in a GP practice in Reading where she leads the Minor surgery and Dermatology services.  She has completed surgical skills courses and was awarded Distinction in the Postgraduate Diploma of Dermatology.

Dr Priya Rai

Specialist GP Dermatology 

Dr. Priya Rai graduated in Medicine in 2015. She then relocated to Oxford to undertake her GP VTS training. During this time Priya developed a keen interest in Dermatology and chose to complete a Diploma in Dermatology whilst studying for her GP qualifications – no small feat.  Subsequently, she has completed a number of surgical skills courses. Since qualifying as a GP Priya works as an NHS GP in a surgery in Kidlington.  Priya particularly enjoys treating dermatological matters due to the significant impact she has on her patient’s lives. 

Dr Raj Badiani

Specialist GP Dermatology & Surgery 

Dr Badiani graduated from University College London with Distinction in his MBBS in 2012. Dr Badiani then completed his surgical training becoming a member of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2014 (MRCS).  Following his surgical training Dr Badiani, moved into General Practice, qualifying in 2019. Dr Badiani now works locally as a GP Partner.  Dr Badiani’s surgical expertise and knowledge in Dermatology bring a wealth of knowledge and skills to our team. 

Jennie Brennan

Clinical Assistant 

Jennie, a vital addition to Oxona since early 2023, brings her background of retail management to efficiently handle our busy Oxford clinic. With a calm and professional demeanour, she expertly manages multiple doctors and their patient lists, ensuring a smooth experience for everyone visiting our Oxford clinic. 

Laura Grant

Clinic Manager 

Laura joined Oxona Healthcare in 2021, having previously worked for a local cosmetic dermatology clinic. Overseeing the day-to-day running of our clinics, managing bookings, billings and patients, you will often hear Laura on the phones answering your enquiries, or in clinic welcoming patients.

Alison Powley

Clinical Assistant 

Alison joined Oxona from a background in administration and Dental Healthcare.  She has a calm and welcoming manner, immediately putting patients at ease in our Didcot clinic. Outside of work, Alison is regularly on Grandma duties for her young Grandson, and supports her husband in running his own business. 

Callum Anderson

Co-founder 

Responsible for all technology and security at Oxona, Callum (BA University of Kent, MSc University of London) is our digital guru. Working behind the scenes to manage our IT systems, he is also central to our GDPR and business development activities.

Megan Hickman

Co-founder 

An Oxona co-founder, Megan (BSc University of Leeds, Msc University of Oxford) is responsible for our business development. Whether finding new clinic sites, recruiting staff, ensuring compliance or setting up patient pathways, Megan makes it possible for us to deliver the best patient care.

    With Oxona, there’s no need for a referral and you can book your appointment online, over the phone or by email. All appointment require a pre-paid deposit due at the time of booking.
  • Consultation
    Our specialists will give you the time you need to discuss your problem, making sure you are truly heard. Your questions will be answered with understanding and impartial advice, so you feel ready to make an informed decision.
  • Treatment plan
    Our treatment plans are based on you as an individual, rather than off the shelf. Taking into account your symptoms, medical history and any anxieties, we’ll explore all available options and respect your decisions.
  • Aftercare
    Your care doesn’t end after your treatment. Our team are on hand to offer free post-operative support, and to answer any questions about your treatment plan.
